Stefan Sagmeister Aiga Poster 1999
I remember looking at Stefan Sagmeisters work back in highschool, and the realization of how much more I appreciate it now is stunning. I have always enjoyed looking at different typographers, and how they even begin to create new fonts. Last year I did a whole project on type and the alphabet and looked at the most common font, letter etc and how that letter first came to it’s recognisable form. Similarly to Adrinna Russel, Stefan uses his body as the canvas and carves the details of an event he was talking at on his body. I love the presentation and think it is refreshing seeing how far people will go. He states the aim was to visualise the pain that most of the designers have to go through while working on a project, and I think the outcome is very powerful. Stefans work really inspires me to look back into my love for typeface and has certainly given be some more ideas thoughts to start working from.
