Why does Emiko Suo’s work influence me?
Emikos work first caught my eye when I was flicking through a book of jewellery designers. I really like the shapes she creates and how she experiments with precious and nonprecious metals. Growing up with her father as a jewellery maker Emiko was surrounded by the craft and I think this really shows in her work. She understands what works and what doesn’t and is able to create timeless pieces. I love the edge her jewellery portrays and this is something I intend to have in my work. I love the straight lines that flow through her designs and how it keeps everything linked.
